Huntington State Park in Redding, CT

The world is experiencing something that has never happened before in my lifetime. Entire countries are shutting down. Air travel is being restricted. Major league sports are being postponed. Colleges and schools are closed. Disney World is closed. The fitness center that I manage has shut down until further notice.

You can’t live in fear over something you can’t control. When the entire world is in panic from the COVID-19 virus, find somewhere that makes you feel at peace. For me that place is in the woods, hiking. Yesterday my husband, Justin and I went hiking in one of my favorite local parks, Huntington State Park in Redding, CT. I love how quiet the park is. It always feels like home to me. Justin took me on the single track mountain bike trails that he rides on. It was nice to see the park from a different perspective. If you’re in the area, I’d recommend this park for a nice hike!

How are you coping with the news about COVID-19?
